Monty Python Classic - Best Funeral Song
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life, the classic Monty Python song, has been named the best "alternative" funeral song. The cheery tune from The Life Of Brian film beat competition from The Jam’s Going Underground and The Animals’ We Gotta Get Out Of This Place.
Sasha and Malia Obama Beanie Babies
The company that makes the popular Beanie Babies is hoping for two more big winners with dolls named "Sweet Sasha" and "Marvelous Malia." But, no, the names do not refer to President Barack Obama's daughters, a Ty Inc. spokeswoman says. Honest!

Majel used to make my Spiderman underwear get sprung with webbing when I was a kid watching Star Trek.
ReplyDeleteAlright, maybe that was inappropriate...oh screw it, that woman was HAWT!
But now I'm wondering if those ashes will one day crash onto a distant world and spawn a bunch of nerdy Trekkies that will eventually take over Earth.
Inquiring minds want to know.
V'ger, I'm ready for ya baby!
I remember Majel Barret from Star Trek, the original series. She made me sport wood, too. She was Counselor Deanna Troi's mother in ST: The Next Generation. She was hysterical, doing that character. She was always trying to put the moves on Captain Picard, too. But that dumb, aloof bastard never gave up the "stick" for her. A lot of people don't know that Majel and Gene were screwing while he was still married back in the late 1960's.
ReplyDeleteThat's very cool that her ashes will be sent up into space with Gene's.
I loved that movie, Life Of Brain. And that song. So funny. So droll. I used to sing "Always Look on The Bright Side of Life at the most "innappropriate" times. Not at a funeral. Just mostly in the stalls of public bathrooms when I knew there were guys trying to dump a load and get the hell out of there. Fucking with people's minds can be great fun.
