1. I took my wife to a baseball game - I kissed her on the strikes and she kissed me on the balls.
2. What starts with "F" and ends with "UCK"? A fire truck!
3. Be an optimist - at least until they start moving animals in pairs to Cape Canaveral.

5. Be true to your teeth and they won't be false to you.
6. My wife is a great cook - she makes great pies. I eat her cherry and she eats my banana.

You know I really don't remember Mr. Soup very well.
ReplyDeleteBut I read of his death on FOX news, so I wasn't sure if it was a REAL news story, cuz you know... FOX news is not a real news station.
Ha!
Those are great quotes! I keep on forgetting to write... I love the Halloweenie stuff you got goin' on in here! Fun, spooky fun!
I read somewhere that many of these lines are urban legend that were mistakenly attributed to him on his kid's show. Nevertheless, I well remember watching Soupy and yukking it up. Did you know his kids played with David Bowie in Tin Men?
ReplyDeleteI never did get the urge to watch anything that he was a part of. Not sure why. The guy just never yanked my chain. I guess Cool Whip sales will fall now.
ReplyDelete@ dufus - I read that too, but they were too funny to pass up. Remember "Do the Mouse"? Reminds me of your post at downbeat dufus, "Do the Freddie".
ReplyDelete@ Don - I did watch, Frank Sinatra was just one of the many stars that appeared for Soupy's infamous pie-in-the-face gag.
@ Quirky - Thanks, I'm glad you like the spooky fun!
ReplyDeleteI used to love Soupy Sales but, to be honest, until I saw that he just died, I was absolutely convinced that he had died a number of years ago. Is that a sign of me getting old?
ReplyDeleteI used to get a kick out of his stuff. My dad would just roll at his jokes. Like Joel I kind of thought he was dead already and no, that isn't a sign of you getting old because I'm not old! Another good one is gone.
ReplyDelete@ Joel - Yes!
ReplyDelete@ Buggys - My dad would too! I was just too young to get it. But I loved the pies in the face.
Like Buggys' dad, mine would be laughing til he cried. I liked watching the show in the 70's, but I loved more seeing my dad in stitches like that. His laugh is contagious. RIP Soupy.
ReplyDeleteI am old enough to remember Soupy Sales; gosh he was an original. He's part of my growing up memories; thanks for reminding me.
ReplyDeleteI remember soupy sales but I don't recall watching him very much. Those lines are pretty good.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of the guy. But the jokes are hilarious :) lol
ReplyDelete"do the mouse!"
ReplyDeleteloved the guy, :-)
thanks, me-me
..
.ero
I was sad to see he had died. I used to love him. Great quotes.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Soupy!
ReplyDeleteI remember Soupy more as a panelist on something. The Gong Show maybe? I forget.
ReplyDeleteSoupy Died? Man have I been out of it. RIP Soupy! He was awesome.
