Coachella Or Bust!

I am so excited this morning because I am making plans to attend the Coachella Music Festival April 16th, 17th and 18th near Indio, California. This festival features many genres of music including alternative rock, hip hop and electronic music as well as large sculptural art.

In past years artists such as Leonard Cohen, Sir Paul McCartney Prince and Madonna have taken the stage to entertain the masses. This year's lineup includes a couple of new bands I've taken a liking to like Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show along with Jay-Z, John Waters, Shooter Jennings and Sly Stone.

It's been years since I have attended anything like this and I cannot wait to make my way to the front of the stage to dance the night away. So, if you find yourself in this part of the country during this particular weekend, drop on by for a lot of great music and fun!

  2. Hmmm...that does sound like fun...
I hear about Coachella every year, generally after it's happened...of course, this time, finding out before it's happened, only means that it's another addition to my list of "trips I'd like to take if I could swing the cash..."

  6. Sly Stone of Sly and The Family Stone? Not that I can imagine there'd be more than one.

Just this past week I was wondering whatever happened to him. The last I knew of him he was on Letterman -- man, probably more than 10 years ago. I remember Dave asking what he was going to do and Sly said, "Write some hit songs." Dave chuckled and said, "If you're going to write songs, they might as well be hits."

  16. You will enjoy it, I'm sure.

In music, there is an ineffable quality. It amazes me how the arrangement of musical tones can have such a profound impact on us.

  18. If you get a chance, flash Paul for old time's sake. Or Madonna. Whatever turns your crank.

  19. What a total blast. I can't remember the last festival type music event I went to. I'm sure I was stoned and that's probably why, but I'm sure I had a good time and I'm sure you will, too. ;)

  20. It sounds like fun. Will it be televized? Make sure you give us a sign so we know which one you are when you're up there dancing. I'd be joining you up on stage if I'd be there too. LOL.

I do like these two songs. They make me move my body and dance. Thanks for sharing.
