Sunday

“Sunday is the golden clasp that binds together the volume of the week”--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

This past Thursday I offered a giveaway of Robert Walters' new comic strip book - Boy, I'd Hate To Be Made Out Of That Stuff! Using a random selection gizmo-thingy, I entered all of the names of those of you who entered.

Voila, we have a winner!!!

suZen, come on down! Congratulations! suZen is the bloggess over at Erasing the Bored, she is a brilliant writer and presents a variety of uplifting and creative motivations for day-to-day living . I have been following her for quite some time and always enjoy her thoughtful perspectives. Be sure you stop by her place today!

Also, I would like to thank Christiejolu over at Tales From My Head for the Sunshine Award she presented to me earlier in the week. Given we have a 70% chance of rain today, spreading a bit of sunshine my way is definitely appreciated. Thank you, Christiejolu!

And, finally, here's something you probably do not know about me - my favorite Beatles' tune. From the rooftop concert over the Apple Recording Studios in London (1969), I give you I Dig a Pony. Enjoy!

Which Beatles' tune is your favorite?

  3. Ack! About 30 secs into the video the audio stopped!

    Probably my PC.

Anyhooser, congrats to suZen! And it looks like we're gonna get some rain today here in the valley of the sun! HA!

  4. Loved the song. I love While my Guitar Gently Weeps. I like older Beatles not the I wanna hold you hand Beatles. Not that there is anything wrong with that, they changed music at that time. Any band that can do that is cool in my eyes!

I was surprised last night when I went out to walk the dog it was raining here in Tucson! MOre like shocked!

You are so welcome for the award! I love your blog!

  5. @ Geek Girl - I'm not complaining too much about the rain, we never seem to get enough of it in the desert.

@ Quirky - If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again!

@ Christiejolu! - I like that one too...people either forget or just don't know how much George Harrison actually contributed with his songwriting - like, Here Comes The Sun, Taxman and Something.

Thanks again for the award, sunshine!

  6. Congrats, suZen! Enjoy!

Favorite Beatles tune? Hmmm. I don't know. The band isn't very high on my favorites list. I guess it has to be "Last Train to Clarksville."
    That one pretty good.

  7. @ C: - Okay, my friend, are you just pulling my leg here? "Last Train to Clarksville" was The Monkees' 1966 hit!!!

  8. Congratulations! My favorite Beatles: Oh, Darling! The Long Winding Road. Songs from the White Album, which I'm totally blanking on. No pun intended.

  13. Kudos on the award, and thanks for that little-known of or heard Beatles Tune. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite - way too many classics and flat out awesome tunes from the mighty mopheads for me to select one.

  16. Coming over from C.C.W.A.! I love your Blog Prayer, I will be using it every day as I have a terrible addiction to blogging. So here I am, passing you some crack, hoping it will get you through until your next hit!
    Congrats on your award!
My favorite Beatles hit is Hey Jude! I can never get enough of that song.

  18. Another award? Who are you, the awards lady? Congrats! When Neil Young swung through Ottawa last year, his third and final encore was A Day In The Life. It was about as far removed from a Beatles song as you could get but I - and the rest of the audience - was absolutely blown away.

  21. No, really it's so hard to pick one. So many, I hold dear.

    Let It Be,
    Across The Universe,
    Happiness is a warm gun,
    Elanor Rigby,
    Yesterday(!),
    Don't Let Me Down,
    Here Comes The Sun,
    On and on......

I suppose I'd say Imagine . I know, who'da thought an agnostic would like Imagine? ;-)

  22. @ Dufus - Love Neil, I'm definitely going to try to find that one! I found it.....

    Very cool!

@ Leeuna - Another great choice!

@ Mac - I had a friend, who looked like Zappa, who used to play this all the time. It's always been among my favorites.

@ Glenn - In the words of Sarah Palin, you betcha!

@ Mac - All are classics. However, Imagine was John Lennon (solo)....my hero!

@ Mac, again - Don't you know it's gonna be all right!!!
