Happy Monday! Yep, it's Monday.....again.
To kick off today's post, I thought you might be interested in checking out the brand new look over at Humor Bloggers Dot com. Chelle has done an awesome job redesigning the site of the funniest bloggers on the planet. Thanks Chelle!
I'd also like to share a few "On This Day In History" events with you before we get to the winning caption for Me-Me's Playhouse: "Caption This! No. 5. Salute!
1. 1867 - Architect Frank Lloyd Wright was born.
2. 1923 - Comedian Joan Rivers was born.
3. 1944 - Singer/songwriter Box Scaggs was born.

Now, on with the show.....
This installment of "Caption This!" brought in some hilarious responses. The Impartial Panel of Three decided that the following deserve a most-honorable mention: Jenn Thorson, nonamedufus, Haley, Phillipa and My Daily List. A BIG thank you to all that participated, hope to see you here again on Friday.
May I have the envelope please?
The Impartial Panel of Three have the pleasure of announcing the winning caption for this installment. In fact, they were rolling on the floor....literally. The winning author takes home the lovely Golden Phallus plus 500 EC credits.
And, the winner is.....
Quirky Loon!!! Be sure to visit that zany loon over at Musings Of A Quirky Loon today for some side-splitting laughter. Congratulations!!!
"Hi, we're The Dyer Boys!"
In case you haven't caught their act, drop by and pay a visit with The Dyer Boys - you'll be glad you did.
I knew that one was gonna win. Now we get to look forward to the revenge . . . who they'll take it upon is anyone's guess. Quirky for the suggestion, or you for glorifying it. I'm expecting a raucous top five list over that the Dyer place . . .
ReplyDeleteSigh, always a bridesmaid never the bride. Oh, no, that's not a caption just an observation. Quirky's caption was great. WTG Quirky.
ReplyDelete@ Chris - Maybe I should head for the ranch and hide out for awhile.
ReplyDelete@ nonamedufus - LOL! That would have made a great caption!
Congrats Quirky!!! I took one look at yours and KNEW I couldn't come up with anything better...priceless...
ReplyDeleteI believe it was the singer Cher who said that there's no such thing as bad press, but she's clearly never been compared to a geeky crossdresser before. Wait, she has? All the time? Okay, never mind. We've decided to feel flattered by this, so we won't be plotting any revenge at all. Nope, no revenge at all...
ReplyDeleteGood pick. Now the challenge will be to use this same caption for other caption contests. I can't remember who posted the one with the underwearless kilt-guy doing a Sharon Stone. "Hi, we're the Dyer boys" would have worked great there too.
ReplyDeleteUh oh.
ReplyDeleteI dont' know whether to be happy or fearful!
Just kidding!
Thank-you!
I love it!
I'll proudly wear that badge of honor at my blog!
And for the record, I don't believe Philip at all.
MeMe? You and I need to tread carefully...ah, what the heck.
Bring it on Dyer Boys! hee hee hee
Thanks again Meme! This is my first caption award evah! I've been toiling hard at it...was starting to doubt my caption abilities...but now I know!
I can!
heh heh
@ Winky Tinky - Agreed, she did a great job!
ReplyDelete@ Philip Dyer - You guys are great sports. We love you!!!
@ MyDailyList - Oh, I remember...it was Lady Sarcasm. That was a great one.
@ Quirky - Congratulations, it is well deserved.
OMG! Hilarious. Good thing she knows Phillip and Douglas have a great sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteIt will also be interesting to see what "non-revenge" they have in store. Congrats RG!
Congrats Quirky; it was sooo good I considered trying to hack into the blog code and make it look like I submitted it, but I decided there is only so much failure I can contend with in one week..
ReplyDeleteCongrats Quirky, that was awesome.
